The buzz is in the air! A new group out of Mississippi’s small towns (you’ve probably never heard of) is making rumblings and waves in Gospel music. The southern part of our nation has given birth to Anointed Bodies of Christ (ABoC), a choir formed in 2008 from a Mississippi’s youth ministry.
The original group began as a Mass Choir around 2002 performing at youth Conferences. They were mostly known as the Youth Federation Mass Choir. The membership extended from Jackson Mississippi to the Gulf Coast including its founder’s hometown, Soso. It became evident through the Spirits prompting that God had a greater calling for this body.
The Founder
The choir’s founder, Roscoe Henry Jr., vision has been to create an atmosphere of gospel music that would not only enhance the listener’s worship experience but to be based soundly in biblical truths. Music that can be enjoyed and change lives at the same time. He has served in many capacities in music ministries. For the South Mississippi Youth Federation he served as Music Coordinator, Vice President and President over a 15 year period. In addition, he along with his brothers are members of the Dewdrops, a dynamic versatile recorded gospel group which sings A Capella as well as contemporary renditions of gospel music and most flavors in between. Their stage has been across the U. S. with some of gospel’s greatest legends. They were nominated at one of Mississippi’s most prestigious gospel awards for their service in gospel music.
The Music
The album represents a collection of inspired songs flavored with music blends as that of a good all-purpose seasoned salt; the Spirit stirs up a musical mix that delivers a refreshing fulfillment to hungry appetites. Each song in its own way represents a mini message to minister to the hearts of the listener the great news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
